“A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.”Proverbs 19:5

“And set two men, sons of Belial, before him, to bear witness against him, saying, Thou didst blaspheme God and the king. And then carry him out, and stone him, that he may die.”1 Kings 21:10

These verses reveal the danger of weaponized lies. In Proverbs, God gives the principle: false witness brings judgment. In 1 Kings, we see the practice: Jezebel hired wicked men to lie against Naboth so she could steal his vineyard. What was spoken in deception ended in death. A lying tongue may accomplish its goal for a moment, but God records every word.

Many use lies to manipulate situations, destroy reputations, or justify their own desires. But God says plainly — “shall not escape.” Truth may seem buried, but it always rises.

Joseph — Genesis 39

Joseph was falsely accused by Potiphar’s wife. Her lie put him in prison, but God vindicated him and raised him to power. The lie prospered for a season, but truth prevailed.

Jesus Christ — Matthew 26:59-61

Jesus Christ faced false witnesses at His trial. Wicked men twisted His words to condemn Him. Though men lied against Him, God turned that injustice into the salvation of the world.

Be careful what you say about others. A false report can wound deeply, but God hears every word. Never build your case on deception, because Heaven keeps the record.
