“And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.” — Luke 12:39
“For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.” — Proverbs 5:21
Man is often unwatchful when he feels secure… but God is always watchful, even when man is not.
The danger is not just being watched — it is forgetting Who is watching.
David — 2 Samuel 11
David thought:
- It was a private moment.
- No one would know.
- The “house” was unguarded.
But God saw everything: the look, the lust, the lie. David failed to watch his house, but God was watching his heart.
Principle: When vigilance drops, sin enters.
Judas Iscariot — John 12:4–6
Judas carried the bag and stole secretly. No one challenged him. No one suspected him. But the Lord knew all along.
He lived like no one saw him, but he stood before One who saw everything. Hidden sin is never hidden from God.
- Watch your private life.
- Guard your unguarded moments.
- Remember: God sees what others don’t.
“An unguarded life invites unwanted ruin.”
