“…Christ is all, and in all.” — Colossians 3:11

“And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.” — Romans 8:10

The Christian life is not built on what we can do for God, but on what Christ is in us and what Christ is to us. Colossians 3:11 lifts Christ above all distinctions—race, rank, background, or ability—and declares: “Christ is all.” Romans 8:10 reminds us that the moment Christ dwells within us, everything changes. The old life (“the body”) is powerless, but the indwelling Spirit gives life, strength, and righteousness. When Christ is in you, He becomes: your life, your identity, your strength, your hope, your righteousness, your sufficiency. When Christ is all to you, no circumstance can take your peace, and no trial can take your strength. Christ fills the believer, fuels the believer, and forms the believer into His likeness.

Joseph in Egypt — Genesis 39:2–3. “And the LORD was with Joseph… and the LORD made all that he did to prosper.” Joseph had no position, no family, no freedom—but he had the presence of God. Everywhere Joseph went, God was with him, and that made him prevail in temptation, injustice, false accusation, and prison. Joseph’s life teaches this principle: When God is with you, you have everything you need—even when everything else is taken from you. Just as the Lord was Joseph’s portion, Christ is our life (Col. 3:4).

Paul in Prison — Philippians 1:20–21. “For to me to live is Christ…” Paul wrote from a Roman cell, but Christ lived in Him. His circumstances were dead to comfort, but the Spirit was life in his soul. He was chained, but Christ in him made him fruitful, joyful, and steadfast. Paul’s joy didn’t come from where he was— it came from Who lived within him. He had learned that Christ is not “part” of life—Christ IS life. When Christ is in you, He becomes your life. When Christ is all to you, He becomes your strength. When Christ is over you, He becomes your peace. Christ is all—and in all.
