“For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.”Luke 8:17

“Some men’s sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after.”1 Timothy 5:24

There is a dangerous lie that sin can stay buried. Men hide it, excuse it, and convince themselves nobody sees. But God says what is hidden will be revealed. Some sins are obvious immediately, while others trail behind like a shadow until the appointed time. But make no mistake—God keeps perfect records.

Sin may be concealed from men, but never from God.

Hebrews 4:13 says: “…all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.”Hebrews 4:13. The wise man deals with sin now before God brings it to light later.

David: Exposed by Nathan

David thought his sin was covered—adultery, deceit, and murder. For a while it seemed hidden. But God sent Nathan with the words: “Thou art the man.” (2 Samuel 12:7) What was done in secret was exposed in public. Hidden sin has an appointment with exposure.

Ananias and Sapphira: Sudden Judgment

They secretly lied about the money, thinking no one would know (Acts 5:1-10). But God revealed their deception to Peter, who said: “Why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost…?” Their secret sin brought sudden judgment. You can deceive men, but not God.

What is hidden today may be headline tomorrow. Better to confess it than conceal it.

“He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.”Proverbs 28:13
