“That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.” — Philemon 6
“For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name…” — Hebrews 6:10
Paul links two great truths: Your faith becomes powerful when you share what Christ has done in you. God never forgets the unseen labor of love that flows out of that shared faith. The word “communication” in Philemon 6 means fellowship, sharing, making known. When we acknowledge the “good thing” Christ placed in us—His salvation, His mercy, His transforming grace—our testimony becomes effectual, meaning energized, powerful, fruitful. Hebrews 6:10 adds the encouragement that God sees every act done for His name, even when men overlook it. Faith shared is love remembered. The world may forget, but God never will. Together these verses teach: When you faithfully share what Christ has done in you, God faithfully remembers what you do for Him.
Joseph in Prison (Genesis 39–41). Joseph served faithfully in obscurity. No crowds. No pulpit. No recognition. But Joseph continued to acknowledge God openly (Genesis 40:8). His faith “communicated” even in a dungeon. And God did not forget him. Though the butler forgot Joseph, God never did. At the right time the Lord brought him out, honored his labor of love, and used his testimony to save a nation. When you share God’s goodness in hidden places, God remembers you in His perfect time.
The Poor Widow’s Two Mites (Mark 12:41–44). No one else noticed her. The rich overshadowed her offering. Her gift seemed tiny and insignificant. But Jesus saw it, commended it, recorded it, and used it to teach generations. Her faith was effectual because she acknowledged God with all she had. And Hebrews 6:10 shines: God is not unrighteous to forget—even two mites. God remembers the smallest acts of faith and love when they are done toward His name. Preach what Christ has done in you, and rest in the truth that God will never forget what you do for Him.
